Only Lost for a While
For too long I’ve waited
Sitting content under pines of misfortune
All fortitude waning
As frost collects beneath my feet
Wind gathering in ashen plies
Supplement to my discord and reason
Never ending
All I want is you
To brittle my broken heart
Yet I seem to digress to this
This petty speech
My useless diatribe to cover my feeling
Which means nothing in the end
As all things pass away
But our love would remain
Buried in the young
Brought as hearts stir
For blackened skies fall slowly over chastened dreams
For innocence in us to innocence in them
For love has never been lust
Only a lost memory
