The Dive
Two children stood on a cliff over the rolling waves
A dead end
All hope seemed to sprout wings and fly off
The seagulls laugh at their failure
At their futile struggle
“Jump with me, my friend
Let us take another step
To take a glimpse of another world” said the boy
The soil beneath disappeared
Feet spread out
Hand in hand
They were suspended in mid-air
As if they were going to grow wings
The waves rose up to meet them
And swallowed them whole
Nothing
Then whiteness
A gate rose and opened up revealing another world
The girl looked at the boy
“Discovery is but a dive into another world” said the girl
Laughing
Hand in hand
They walked into the world within the gates.
