When We're Alone
Your breath is warm. I can see it,
a puff in the cold air, so close to my face.
The sunlight sets in an orange pillow,
stars shining out, a moon hard like stone.
But I'm warm, you hold me so close—
at least in my dreams, you do.
You're next to me, staring at the moon,
eyes so fierce, they could never break.
But I break. You see me break all the time.
I broke when I saw you talking to her.
I broke when I asked if you liked her.
I can only see her face in that moon, a sad,
twisted smile, distorted frown. You know.
She's playing with you, but you still like her.

Hi! Thanks for commenting :P I haven't been on Teen Ink recently because our house was robbed and my room was made a terrible mess, so I had a bunch of things to clean up. And of course there's hw...haha.
I think that maybe I could've worked a little bit more on the breaking bit in my poem. I just posted a new poem. I'm going right now to go see your work :D
