Poetry is an outlet, yet it confines you.
Constricting the mind to stay within set parameters
And dictates to you how to express your thoughts.

Poetry is a prison.
It is prison of the mind
That allows emotions
To run rampant
And thoughts to
Explicate
and
Educate.

The cold steel bars bend and flex the mind
To its fullest potential.
Restricted to iamb and scheme.

Even Free Verse is not free;
A misnomer in itself.
It must obey some sort of poetic form
To be called Free, does it not?

And if not, then why call it poetry

Instead of prose?

I think this dose not aply with me at all, I find that that the very confinement of poetic form, only braudens the thoughts already held on the subject. So, If you mean, confineds what you put on the paper... Yes. But over all, I think it's a mentaly healthy exersise.

l liked how free not really free, if it has restrictions.

Writers are a less dangerous version of the career criminal. Everywhere they go, they see the potential for the perfect crime. The difference is that writers have better self control.

It's a thoughtful piece for both reader and ,it appears, writer. It's well written.

A very interesting piece. I love it: you describe the confinement of poetry through a poem. It's doubtlessly well written and thought out. I must spend more time to dwell on your complicated words.
