Dilation
Tiny vessels stay
Unlike the bruises you gave me;
The ones I’d hoped would last my lifetime.
But they didn't.
They faded as you did,
Left my skin with discolored patches
And each time you bit me, it left its mark
Scars stretching across my not-so-innocent skin
Revealing more memories every time
I look in the mirror.
