Brought Down
The darkness of the still night creeps along so slowly
The stillness of hushed bodies lying next to me
The dirty, torn, and Blood stained clothes
After holding loved ones while they die
Never to see them again
Never again should we have to relive this pain
Whole generations all down to one or two
The ones left usually too frail to go on
Brought down by the big man
Stopped in their tracks by fear
Never to feel the same again
Brought down by the big man
Hit, kicked, pushed around
Too scared to stand up for the things they believed
Too scared to close an eye
Afraid that death could be around the corner
Afraid to shed a tear
we are brought to our knees
Forced to salute to their leader
Their punishment was never to sit in the corner
They were killed
Brought down by the big man
Feelings lost
Feelings destroyed
Never were there any feelings
Hurt and pain persisting
Shattered minds and bodies
Brought down by the big man
Lost homes
Lost possessions
Lost family
Lost hope
Brought down, to come to an end
All because of the big man
