The Nightmare-ish Dream
Melodic harmony creeping out of hollow spaces.
Hysteria tying your whole mind in labyrinths.
Crying out for someone to hear you - no one’s there.
As terror encumbers your shadow,
A translucent guillotine cuts you to shreds of rotting somata
Roused by the screaming, the scene ends.
You look beside you to find a shield.
Not an iron one, one to block you from hate.
Armies of corpses of people you know,
Coming towards you, and towards you without a care,
Your shield guides you through the blood-streaked battlefield.
Roused by the screaming, the scene ends.
Scavenging for flesh, a werewolf scratches;
It twists and turns until it casts a yellow eye.
Upon you it glares with a menacing look; you turn to run.
The beast’s fangs pierce your skin.
Blood engulfs your body in burning scarlet,
Roused by the screaming, the scene ends.
Awake now, you might as well have found a four-leaf clover.
Looking around now; they thought you were dead.
The sun shines bright, the nightmare’s over.
You were only deep in a dream, lying in a hospital bed.
