Who am I now?
What I became so quickly
After so long in captivity
Was not words or whips
Or manmade tricks
I had to steal my mind
And salvage what was left of my heart
Running at night
After being chained in the day
My soul shivers in anguish
I am nothing of the girl I once delighted to be
You’re never the same after so long in captivity
