I Am Winter
Whispers nearly silent words, shattering as they trail out
Strong harsh winds whip them away with the cold
Innocence and truth slipping through split lips, red
Unacknowledged, as they are fragmented and small
A soft delicate dream, once forgotten, never known
Nonentity aware of its parting, in its feebleness to exist
Shards of what was and what never will be embellish thoughts
Ebony eyelashes laced with failure and disgrace
Unburdened emotion wields damp cheeks afore freezing
Bitter wind bringing back pieces of the memory
Arranging themselves for repair, waiting for guidance
Restoring the array, atmosphere stagnant while arctic
Frozen stays my stature alongside my mind
Winter brought the cold, broke me, became me
