She let the curtain fall..
Concealing the wounds of the world
and the chaos,
and the small-
distance between the family
and the thunder.

She knelt by her youngest,
His small hands in hers;
And his look of confusion
Forced the bitter words:

With a voice as broken
As the world beyond the window;
She told him to pray,
Because nothing was ever perfect,
But we've seen better days.

Again, I thought of the last line, and wrote UP from it. Weird, I know...but it happens to me alot. To me, this poem is picturing the Holocaust, maybe, or a war..
