With this ring--
I bear a remembrance of things once known
Of things not shown
With this ring--
I remember thee truly.
Dearly as I cherish what never could have been
Dearly as I Forget.
With this ring--
I know thee to be unctuous
To be forever deceptive
To take until I cannot give
With this ring--
You will remain, the untrue love,
As long as the circle remains unbroken
I swear to wear this symbol,
A memory to reprove me.
As you sealed our end with dead eyes
As you sealed me away with your swear
To leave me,
With this ring.
