What makes people not act like people-
Slaughtering each other
And themselves?

What makes people lie, cheat, and steal-
Even though everyone knows what they’re doing?

What makes people malicious toward animals
And children,
Who are so naive and beautiful?
Causing a terrible grief
Worse than running on a bed of shattered glass.

The evolution from people into criminals
Is based on the need to be accepted.
But the truth is
They put themselves farther from acceptance
In my opinion,
Crime is that big ugly beast you can’t hide.

When they are abhorred by society
They want to be accepted by each other.
So what do they do?
More crime!

They end up burying themselves in crime
Until they get caught and put into jail
Where they do new crimes
They get so caught up in crime
They don’t realize they’re committing it.

The real question is:
Why do criminals think crime is good in the first place?
That I don’t know.

We need to reach out
To those who feel like crime is the only answer
Because it isn’t.
Peace is the answer.
