Stir, Stir to Life

A simple,
taunting,
beam of light,
bright beyond the destitute night,
lay a dance upon my placid face,
and warm my quickened breath,
and bring your fluttering ecstasy,
through my pale skin,
reverberate a cry of joy,
amongst my bones,
and when this is done,
touch my heart,
strengthen its resolve,
to keep beat,
to the requisite of life,
so my body may stir,
stir to life,
and greet a wakened world.
