Disguised

my thoughts flow out like poetry
but I speak with ambiguity
doubts and questions fill my mind
I can’t help but wonder, why?

waking up, it’s time for another day
or am I just going through the motions again
the days blur; hours and seconds fade
I won’t tell them of the hell I’m living in.

they see me in a different light
but inside I know I’m not that strong
well what is there to do? just be polite
I’m sure life will go on.

it’s true, I only seem confident
a fun house mirror, it’s a distorted image of me
I fear judgment, deceit, and abandonment
so this mask is what you get to see.
