She cries,
Fear filled tears flow.
Wailing,
Everyone knows.
This pain,
Much too deep
She is tired,
Much too tired to sleep.
They attempt,
Daring to reach out.
Trying to hold her,
What’s she about?
What they can offer,
Love, what she needs
It is a gift,
A gift she will heed.
Shelter is available,
She wants to accept.
She’s afraid,
Her life will be kept.
He’s away for this moment,
A moment too long.
How can it be this way?
It’s so wrong.
She sleeps some nights,
Only half-way through.
Her love is sincere,
This love so true.
One day she will hold him,
This day will come soon.
Then they’ll be together,
Together under the moon
