I can see the grey Trees through the colorless window
The grey Trees speak to me, one through eleven
I can see all the chattering Trees, all but seven
The grey Trees speak to me and I hear nothing
Tears fall from the gate of Heaven

Hide, I must, away from thy window
In another room a window is present
The widow presents to me a grey Ring-Necked Pheasant
The beauty of the Bird does not shine
Although its mine, I drew the line

Hide, I must, away from thy window
In another room a window is there
I see the not-so-brown, grey Bear
The wisdom of the bear was so much
It did not touch, I never used my shifting clutch

I ran to the windowless chamber in fear of them
“You cannot haunt a hair; you Trees, Bird and Bear”
I closed the chamber door as if I didn’t care
I turned the knob to lock, then I heard a loud nock-nock-nock
And it never went away
