You Think
You think you know me,
I’m the quiet little girl who sits in the corner and reads her favorite book,
I have lots of friends and am as happy as can be,
You think you know me but you don’t,
Inside I’m screaming and tearing down walls,
I’m hurting and crying and throwing and fighting,
You think you know me but you don’t.
You think you know me,
Always you see me with my nose in a book,
Which to you is kind of strange,
You think you know me but you don’t,
I escape through my book it’s a portal of sorts,
It’s a way to run away,
You think you know me but you don’t.
You think you know me,
I smile and laugh at all my friends’ jokes’,
You think you know me but you don’t,
My smile is fake and my laugh is hollow,
You think you know me but you don’t.
You think you know me,
You ask if I’m ok but you don’t really care,
You don’t see the pain in my eyes, and you don’t hear the hurt in my voice,
‘Cause if you did you'd ask and ask again,
You think you know me, but you don’t.
