a tip of the hat
it’s a final goodbye
as your blood of blue
spills over the scene
the last drop is spent
and you are sent to the grave
to rest upon sheets of white
in a cylindrical heaven
among yesterdays assignments
and chewing-gum wrappers
a contradictory heaven
residing on the floor
