Trapped In One Body
Just because I’m from the slums doesn’t mean I’m ghetto,
I wear ripped jeans, flannels and head bang to Jared Leto.
I grew up with Tupac and N.W.A,
That doesn’t mean I’m gonna do drugs every day.
I’m a rebel of my kind,
Can’t find anywhere to get away,
I try to run from it, but it’s always right behind.
Just because I lived in a trailer park doesn’t mean I’m trashy,
I wear brand named clothes just like you, Aero and Chuck Taylors and I look dashy.
I grew up with banjos and red necks,
That doesn’t mean I’m gonna get wrecked.
I’m a rebel of my kind,
Can’t find anywhere to get away,
I try to run from it, but it’s always right behind.
So don’t judge me from where I came from,
Even if it was in a slum.
Don’t judge me from what I listen to,
Even if it was Tupac and Motley Crue.
It feels like I came from two families,
And I’ve experienced all their tragedies.
But I’m who I am, and I am proud,
I’m a hillbilly rapper,
And I’m sayin’ it loud!
