I don't know who you are,
Because every time I blink--
You change.
One moment life is great.
You are great and I am too;
Everything is just great.
But then,
Only one instant later.
One word or smile or heartbeat
Later...
Everything is not
So great
Anymore.
The great world we were in
Has shifted 180 degrees
Into something filled with
Hate.
Hate for life and hate for love.
Hate for everything that
Before was just great.
I watch the light
Melt from your eyes,
And shadows creep in.
So much can happen in a moment,
If you blink.
