To Be Admired
Who I admire is not a single person
Not for one single thing
I admire fishermen
Who reel in fish by a string
I admire writers
Telling of horrible tales
Or star-crossed lovers
Who can never be, lest they be unveiled
I admire soldiers
Fighting for their lives
Braving cold, pain, and hunger
In hope they'll return to their wives
I admire artists
Creating art, wonderous as a dream
In each an emotion, a wish
There may be more to the art than it seems
I admire poets
Who have their way with words
Who create poetry before they know it
So the pen truely is mightier than the sword
To one day have great talent as those prior
It is my dream
To be admired as I admired
For whatever my talent may be
