There’s a reason I am here
And one that you’ll never know
Because my heart is caught inward
Inside a wall of stone
And if my heart doesn’t trust you
Then my mind will not too
And though my heart can make room for things
There is no room for you.
There’s a reason that you’re there
One that I will not ask
And even though I like your face
It’s trapped behind a mask
And if I cannot know you
There is no need to waste
My time or attention
My affection or my days.
