Young Forever
If I could make cookies the size of Japan,
Or keep bouncing slinkies as far as I can,
If daisy chain crowns made me queen of the sea,
Then I would stay young forever.
If swing sets were airplanes to fly in the sky,
And if buses were float parades passing us by,
If castles were built out of pebbles and sand,
Then you would be holding my hand.
If grownups were dolls that could never speak,
And we could play tag ‘till our legs went weak,
Then rainy days would mean puddles and laughs,
And I would stay young forever.
