Oh, if only you could see
I’m not that little girl anymore
Asking you to tie my shoes

I’m not that little girl
That you always tried to save from my brother and sister
You know.

I’m the youngest,
The one’s whose future hasn’t found its way yet
And I understand that
You don’t want me to mess up like my brother

But just know
That I’m not a baby
I know the world is a dangerous place
But it has it beautiful wonders, waiting to be found

You’re holding me back with illogical excuses
I can’t stand it any longer
I’m breaking free
So please don’t try to stop me

I so wish I had the courage to give this to my dad.

"She was fascinated with words. To her words were things of beauty, each like a magical powder or potion that could be combinded with other words to create powerful spells." From: Lighting(By: Dean Koontz)

I may be over stepping my bounds, but I think you should give this to you Dad. This passage is...honest and heartfelt, ...beautifully written. Sometimes people respond to seeing things in words, maybe if you gave this to your Father, maybe he would understand.
