The Axis and The Allies
Over seventy million people
I am just one
To suffer under the world powers
From the government presumed to be independent
To endure this conjoining of forces
That rip our countries apart
I am just one
One to be thrown into concentration
Starved, beaten, worked
Until my ribs nudge out of my sides
I am just one of six million
To be tortured by this "great leader"
I have no other choice
But to be cynical over what has happened
I have no food but slop,
No bed but wooden boards.
We are sick and we are dying
Will this misery ever end?
I am just one of seventy million
To suffer for what I have not done
This is where I am,
This is where I will die,
This is where I will be burned
Like the thousands before me.
