My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to.

Dad walked into the room
laundry done, but thong
in hand. “Hey!”
he announced, “Someone left their slingshot
in the dryer!” He flung
it across the room, past the gaping faces
of my relatives
at the family reunion.
Need I mention
I'm the only girl in the family?
