Empty
I feel the Emptiness closing in around me,
a faceless wraith chasing me in the night.
His reach knows no limits,
and He soon traps me in His grasp.
With the chilling hands of Death,
He numbs my soul, and blackens my heart.
All warmth and caring is torn from my body,
I am fully embraced by Empathy.
I cry out with my final breath,
begging God to send me a savior.
A mighty Hero to drag my forgotten body to safety,
and breathe new life into my abandoned corpse.
But Heroes are a dying breed,
and this time there is no happy ending.
The very essence of my being has been stolen from me,
and the new color of my life is grey.
