Simple
Nothing is ever simple,
Best Friends,
Move apart,
They smile and say,
That they’ll always be together,
And time passes,
And one day they look up,
And there are these,
Craters,
And canyons,
Between them,
These gaps are made of,
School,
Boyfriends,
Parents,
Other people,
And,
And even though you can still toss a rope,
Out to them,
You can't seem to find them,
Not out there around you,
And not in yourself,
So even though,
You talk on the phone,
And even though,
You see each other in the hall,
Sleep over at each other’s house,
There's this ever-,
Widening gap,
That you can't seem,
To do anything about,
Sometimes you just gotta,
Cry.
