Misery loves company no longer
Misery loves company no longer.
His words will not repress your tears,
His song will not relieve your sorrows,
His eyes will not meet yours.
Days pass, months pass, galaxies pass,
And you,
You are left,
A speck of dust on the sidewalk,
A pebble on the broken road,
A grain of sand on the cold ocean floor.
And perhaps,
Through the sounds of your muffled sobs,
And through the rhythmless beat of your heart,
You will see that
He who cannot save you
Lies beside you.
