you said it would never work
that it was better off this way
you wait for me to respond
but I have nothing left to say

I feel my mouth go numb
I start to feel the first tear
I wipe my face and look down
and see the make-up smear

I have to put the phone down
and I feel my heart tear
I put the pfone back to my ear
and he asks if i'm there

I give the phone away
I just couldn't stay
I had to leave that haunted place
that is all I could handle for today

so thats it, thats all
my heart feels like a ton
there is nothing left to do
teh damage has been done

I wrote this poem whenI had experienced my first break up. He was the first boy to break-up with me and I was a total mess for awhile.
