The Pirate

He promised me the golden sun.
And he promised me the world.
He took what he could, created an illusion of giving back.
A pirate of the grandest kind, he ravaged my soul.
Taking my last shread of innocence, he broke my already shattered heart.
We were best friends and lovers, but he loved himself too much.
Silly broken hearted girl.
Now I'm left here teary eyed.
In awe and wonder at his dishonesty.
