The wind beats down
More heavily than the blazing sun
And swirls around
like churning streams.

I stand,
Speechless,
On my promontory of stone,
Exposed,
The whole world below me,
Around me,
And I am but an observer.

A two-lane road,
So far away,
Winds through the sand
And amazes me
At how far I have come.

I agree with the message of this poem. Sometimes when you reach the highest you can get, and look down from that very peak, it's the most amazing thing. And the feeling that goes with it is so precious.
