The path
The BuMpY gravel beneath
my feet
Rocks crashing on shoes I've beat
Walking along the path, where my school will meet.
Without the slightest thought I know my way home
Like the back of my hand
Knowing all to well the colors and cracks
The daily walking of neighborhoods.
The meeting of people.
The feeling of faces.
The wandering of places
The dog chases
Sounds of gun ranges.
Looking to the future, I know I have moved on
But the past still holds my heart
Knowing time will never go back
I have grown older and erased that time of my life
Like waves in the ocean pulling me down.
The rabbit hole I often find myself in
Like Alice I wonder wheres my land
But forward is the path and I must get back.
Forever holding the memories I have.
On the street of michigan ave.
