Reaching
Things, coming and going without a weeks notice
Like a gust of wind and a falling lotus
Leaf, as the seasons change, we all wonder
Where the time went as soon as it hits summer
Time, I never pictured how it could have went
two weeks turning to 6 then 8 then 10
My first year left me, wishing I could see it again
I wish I could go back to relive a different way
To when things were simple, that's where I’d stay
With middle school crushes and high school looming close
To college now, a distant comatose
It felt like last week when I got my first car
Thinking about it now makes me realize how far,
How far life takes you without your notion
Thousands of scenarios like fish in the ocean
I’ve felt many emotions over my years of high school
From being happy to looking like a fool
I’m proud of my strengths and things that make me, me
Especially those skills that helped make my college free.
I'm happy for my excitement to reach for the stars
Doing so has helped me know my ability to go far
