We live in a world were a kid could bring his fathers gun to school and no one know

YWhy?

Why are we living in a world where someone would shoot someone and no one would know?

We live in a world where kids are terrified to go to school.

We live in a world where the government is constantly ignoring the fact that people of ALL AGES are dying almost every day.

We live in a world where people fantasize over guns

Fourth of July, my mom, my stepdad, and I go to see the fireworks and moments later I hear two gunshots. One person got shot in the leg, she was six…

Three other people were injured.

Why do people have to lose their lives over something that shouldn’t even be purchased?

Why do people have to face all of that PTSD their whole lives?

Why do people have to live with that trauma like a big scar on their back and the more and more they try to forget about it, it just hurts more and more .

Smoke swirls, Silent Screams suffocate, steels seductive song, Souls shatter, desolate shadows stain streets, sorrows seeping.

Like a shadows kiss, the gun leaves scars unseen.

In a day lights embrace, the gun gleams like a false promise, yet when shadows stretch, it births tragedy, cold and remorseless.

A tragedy waiting to happen

The author's comments:

I wrote this piece for school but I worked hard on this and I chose this poem to get the word out about Gun violence and how i could be reduced. I wrote this poem to spread the word about the lost lives of these tragedy’s and how theirs names need to be said.
