Consequences of War
Victory has come
But lives have been lost
Flags may be shining in the sun
But it comes at a cost
We are proud to have won
But imagine the people who had to run
We cheer out loud
But the voices of the dead cannot speak aloud
We have hurt the innocent
And in their loved ones hearts leave a dent
Victory has come
But lives have been lost
Flags may be shining in the sun
But it comes at a cost
It feels like we have lost
Our own war
A line we have crossed
In our core
