Pretty Girl
Beautiful girls only cry
From time to time
They let the words fester and rot
Bottle it all inside
Because it's what they were taught
Pretty girls pretty cry
The tears fall and burn their eyes
Call it distraught
Pretty girls cry
Because otherwise
They're called robots
A mean girl a big world
You know her at least what you heard
But as mascara runs and her vision blurs
Do you really know the pretty girl?

I wrote this about a girl who I didn't really like because of what I was told by other people. But at the same time she was always so polished like she never had a toe out of line. Then there was this moment when I got to know her. it was like wow she's just a person who makes mistakes. I shouldn't judge her for her worst moments because I wouldn't want someone to do that to me. in that moment she was so real and authentic that it was striking.
