Walking on egg shells
The buildings here show death
For the striking beauty of all things old
Managed to strike pretty deep every time
A double bedroom and a torn up robe
That's all she got, but got it settled down
Bloodstained her evening gown
It's quiet everyday, all hears is her typewriter
It's cold and the grey moon never shines brighter
But she stays afloat as she's afraid of the town
For her covers were blown and they would surely frown
"Save me", her mind screams daily
Blue and bruised of all the torture
But she enjoys it greatly
And nothing causes her departure
She stays on her toes
Trying hard walking on egg shells
Something someday will deep enough grow
Which will trigger and ring the bells
All this time, as she drew a frail line
The noises never stop
It hits harder every time
The music will always drop
Life or death never decided her lows
For all she knew, the cold wind blows
But what gives life also takes it away
She ran from the pain but never saw the light of day
Walking on egg shells or walking in the rain
The distance puts her life up for bargain
They still see her from time to time
Running the medleys of slaughters and dines
The ocean floor welcomes her now
After the day she jumped off the boat
The buildings still give off her trace
Mildly staying afloat
The neighbors were found whispering aloud
"She is in a better place now"

A soulful rendition of today's youth, troubled and depressed, trying to break thorough the barriers of social stigma, 'Walking on eggshells' is a beautiful creation by Soumyaa Banerjee, a poet from India.
