The crack of dawn
That bitter smell of dark coffee
The air so cold you cold
You can see your blazing breath
The smell of dry dirt rubbing off your boots
As you load them in the old truck
That’s why I love hunting
The Gas Station Coffee’s and burgers with a 1,000 calories
The memories with your dad and friends
The licks of my favorite dog while sitting in the blind
Fresh fired gunshots while ducks drop down
The duck calls that are music to my ears
That’s why I love hunting
The feeling like no other
When the bucks come out
With a 6.5 by your side
And the heater at your feet
Makes you feel you
If there are no worries outside this hut
That’s why I love hunting
