Winter's Here

January 30, 2024
By Anonymous

Roads are covered in a blanket of white snow,
my eyes squint from the bright glow.
Snow blankets the hill
as the frosty air gives a thrill.
Brr! Winter brings a chill.

Children are filled with cheer,
the cold season is so bitter,
my body shivers in winter.
A veil of snowflakes cover our land,
hot cocoa wrapped in my hand,
I dream of sun and sand.

This piece uses rhyme and a variation of descriptive words to create an image in my readers head of Winter.

“Grief,I've learned is really just love. It's all the love you want to give but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part in your chest. Grief Is just love with no place to go.”
