New Year, New Me

The clock counts down from ten,

a new year is near.

 Anticipation and excitement that shake my bones.

I dash to grab a pen,

in my mind the dreams are clear;

although, what this year will bring is unknown.

I want to make myself better,

now is the time to start,

and in a few seconds the ball will drop.

I write my future self a letter,

It is time to restart.

I will not let my 2024 flop.

The crowd goes wild,

let me start making my time more worthwhile.

I may be filled with fear,

but all I can do is smile,

I am coming into this new year with style.
