A week ago, you had that soul

But you panicked and left your important role

You could have hired an agent to help you out

But you let it take over, the fear and the doubt

You left her there, in the arms of the cold

Did you think that was fair? Were you trying to be bold?

You could have laid her in the Baby Box all snuggly and warm

But I had to find her, and my heart is fully torn

In her pink blanket she laid, lifeless and blue

I picked her up in tears, she weighed a mere five point two

I felt for breath but nothing was drawn

I sat and wailed for help on the frost covered lawn

I pray you understand the life you gave away

It will haunt the both of us until we are old and grey

I recently had a friend install a Baby Box in a close by county and that event happening brought me to write this poem.
