Hearing such venom from your soft lips
It was as if I had witnessed magic
The woman I knew turned into a snake
Your smooth skin turned into scales in a second
And your perfect rows of teeth turned to fangs
As if you knew my heart was on a bough,
You plucked it off and discarded it as if it were rotten
Constantly I reached out an olive branch,
You used it to fuel your fire
The heat of your fury burned me
I could feel your poison flow through my body,
Shadowing my love for you everlong
Like vines bounding me to you
Forevermore
