Dogs are great! I just got her, I think I’ll name her Skadi. My Skadi girl!

She’s playing with Chew toys and... my shoes? My shoes! Not again! Drop it!

She’s running, and running, and running, and sleeping. ZzzZzzZz, I didn’t know dogs could snore that loud!

She loves giving wet slobbery kisses and she walks beside me. It’s nice to have a friend.

She’s growing, she’s not a lap dog anymore!

-

She has gray hair, when did she get a powdered face?

She’s getting sore joints, she can’t get down the stairs anymore.

She’s getting old, still loving as ever, she’s not following me around anymore.

She died, she was just a puppy a few days ago I swear.

-

It’s so quiet now.

There’s no nails tapping on the hardwoods.

No whining at the door.

No toys scattered everywhere.

No dog hair in every crevice of the house.

Where is she?

Oh.. Right, she’s gone. I miss my Skadi girl

The author's comments:

My dog is still very much alive and well. She'll be three this November. She's a big dog and they age faster than smaller dogs, so I can see the gray hairs starting to show on her, she has a giant spot on her back that's starting to turn gray.
