When It Was Over
I got no answer, I got silence.
You show me no light, you show me darkness.
I fought for you, I fought hardest.
Why did I fight?
When it was over you said nothing.
I’m left with unanswered questions, yet that shouldn’t surprise me.
Your a boy made from habit.
And I’m a girl scared of change.
Why did I cry?
When now I can’t anymore.
I’ve tried for days and
you drank me dry.
Why did it last?
When I’ll never know what tipped the edge and made you
Fall
Backwards
Away
From
Me.
How do I hold onto something that doesn’t hold back?
Free soloing the side of a flat rock.
Talking to a tree.
And I might just be a name.
To you,
I’m whittled down to your irregular horniness.
To me, you are whittled down to my insecurities.
This is me. This is all me.
And When it was over
I’m everything you’ll miss.
