The Hallway
Hazy and confused
Bright green lights blur your vision
Deadly quiet
Alone
You blink twice
Your heart drops
An echo, it’s faint, but you aren’t alone anymore
Another, it’s behind you now.
In front of you, out of the darkness, a hand
It beckons you closer
You shake your head
You stand quite still
No echo, nothing behind you
You stand still and shut your eyes
Not real, it’s just a dream
Tears roll down your face
The hand goes back into the darkness
Alone again
You wonder what the hand wants, but your thought is cut off
A growl and a breath
The echo is back
You’ve realized your mistake
