Everyone I know is in some sort of pain

he laughs as babylon burns
because he was the one who lit the match
and cool kids never stay long enough
to face the flames but just once
he'd like to be anyone but the one
who leaves. just once he'd like to be
the one who stays.
(he laughs as babylon burns)
(he cries at babylon's ashes)
who gave the child the matches first
who taught the child how to kill
and you call him a tragedy
but he's a soldier coming home from war
and you call him a lost cause
but he's the fires not the ashes
and even you aren't strong enough
to stop him
