Rock, Paper, Scissors
It seemed like mere seconds
of all of our memories, love, time, and promises
were torn as easily as paper.
Our love was so strong but the scissors torturing us would win in the end.
Who knew she would win?
You would always tell me
“I love you so.”
“We are meant to be.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean it.”
“You’re just being crazy.”
I am not crazy
our love wasn’t meant to last
You told me “don’t overthink”
I wouldn't overthink
if you didn’t give me a chance to.
Now I understand the scissors wouldn’t have won.
If we wouldn’t have let her win.
If you wouldn’t have…
I’ve moved on,
And now?
My Rock won’t let the scissors win…
