"Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again."

I didn’t want to be writing this,

I didn’t want to be thinking of you,

I didn’t want to be with you,

I didn’t want to be your date,

I didn’t want you.

All the things you said are nothing,

All the things you said were lies.

All the things you did were for something,

All the things you did were for someone else,

Of all the things,

Why did you do it?

It is simple.

Why?

Why did you have to break something good?

Why did you have to complicate something simple?

Why did you have to bring feelings into play?

Why did you forget who you were talking to?

Why did you do it?

I hope you had fun at your dance,

I hope you had fun with your date,

I hope you had fun taking pictures,

I hope you had fun with me,

Because this will never happen again.

You broke something that can’t be replaced.

You broke something that I won’t mend.

You broke something that you won’t forget.

You broke something that will haunt you,

You did it.

You broke it.

I hope the lies you spoke were worth it,

I hope the lies you spoke were enough,

I hope the lie you spoke were more than a fantasy,

Oh wait,

They were a fantasy.

Let us review.

You knew how I felt about it.

You knew how I felt about you.

You knew how I was raised,

You knew how I was hoping this would go,

You knew.

You can’t play the victim this time,

You can’t play the injured party,

You can’t play the sorry card,

You can’t play me again.

I gave you the chance,

I gave you everything,

I gave you what you wanted,

I gave you exactly what you asked for,

Now I am the villain.

I am the one who broke a boys heart,

I am the one who hurt you,

I am the one who take the blame,

I am the one who should apologize,

I am the one who should forgive you.

That will not happen,

That will never happen,

That was the first time,

That was the last time,

That was the only time.

Hopefully the pictures are enough,

Hopefully the dance was enough,

Hopefully the memories are enough,

Hopefully the food was enough,

Hopefully everything was up to your expectations.

Because I am done.

Because I don’t need you.

Because it shouldn’t take you reading to understand.

Because it shouldn’t be enough to text me.

Because in the end, you were never enough

And you knew it.

This is to the guy I went to Homecoming with... He probably won't see this, but I was angry.

HI Adeline i really feel you in this situation, right now you should really not focus on boys and live life while it last.
i feel you should charge it
boys don't always matter
your poem is really by the way.

"You will be found" -Dear Evan Hansen

I am so sorry about the homecoming dance! I actually had a similar thing happen to me. Adeline, you do not need a man, because you are independent! Don't feel bad for breaking his heart, he lied to you and you didn't even want to go to homecoming with him.

You are a wonderful writer, and I can see and hear your anger in this poem. You have full reason to be mad at him. Don't let a boy pressure you into doing things you don't want to, and you owe him nothing.

Not an apology, not forgiveness, nothing.

I'm so sorry he did that to you, and I just want to let you know that I am always here for you if you need anything.

Love,

P.S. Boys are underrated, bees are better!
