The way I see it

Life has many pages

Many verses

Many words

Many beginnings and ends

And too many characters to count

I am a character in this chapter

My life started in chapter 2007

But I’m not the only character in this chapter

So why

Why am I a character

Why am I in this story

Am I just here to be a background character

Say a few lines then never seen again

Or will I ever get my chance to speak

Maybe I’ll write verses for everyone’s story but my own

But what if…

I’m the main character

I’m the protagonist

I’m the author

I add more pages when I request

I write an ending of my accord

What others want might be addressed

But in the end, I use what's stored

In my brain

Maybe it's not meant to be…

What if what I’m writing doesn’t align with the original story?

What if what I write doesn’t make sense?

A black, trans masc., pansexual protagonist
